Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Puriton Eye Relief Drops is an over-the-counter homeopathic ophthalmic product marketed for temporary relief of burning and irritation due to eye dryness and discomfort from minor eye irritations or exposure to wind or sun. The product was manufactured by Kadesh and sold in 0.5 oz 15 mL bottles. Its specific active homeopathic ingredients and molecular mechanism of action are not well characterized in standard pharmaceutical terms, so no validated biological target can be assigned. In November 2018, Kadesh voluntarily recalled all lots after an FDA inspection identified non-sterile production conditions and a relatively high pH that could potentially injure ocular tissue; the recall was later completed and terminated.
