Puros Dermis is an acellular dermal matrix (ADM) allograft derived from human skin, processed using a proprietary solvent-preservation method to remove cellular components while maintaining the natural collagen scaffold and elastin fibers. Developed and manufactured by Zimmer Biomet, it is primarily used in periodontal and oral surgery as a biological scaffold for soft tissue augmentation and root coverage in patients with gingival recession. By providing a matrix for host cell infiltration and revascularization, it serves as an effective alternative to autogenous subepithelial connective tissue grafts, thereby eliminating the need for a secondary donor site and reducing patient morbidity. Cairo University has been involved in clinical trials evaluating its efficacy in combination with the tunnel technique for treating multiple gingival recessions.
