Overview

Putrilimab (HS636) is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor. Developed by Hisun Pharmaceutical, it acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by blocking the interaction between PD-1 on T cells and its ligands, PD-L1 and PD-L2. This blockade prevents the suppression of T-cell activity, thereby restoring and enhancing the immune system's ability to identify and eliminate tumor cells. Putrilimab is being evaluated in clinical trials for various malignancies, including recurrent or metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma, where it is often studied in combination with other targeted agents such as the c-Met monoclonal antibody vebecototug (referred to in some trial contexts as vebecototota).
