Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PV-001-DV is an oncolytic virotherapy consisting of a live attenuated strain of Dengue Virus-1 (specifically the #45AZ5 strain). Originally developed by the U.S. Army as a preventative vaccine candidate for dengue fever, the virus has been repurposed by PrimeVax Immuno-Oncology for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. The therapy is designed to be injected intratumorally to induce an immune response against cancer cells. It is frequently evaluated in combination with PV-001-DC, an autologous dendritic cell therapy, to enhance systemic anti-tumor immunity. Clinical development is primarily focused on PD-1-refractory metastatic melanoma, with preclinical exploration in triple-negative breast cancer and glioblastoma.
