Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**PV-1** is an experimental multi-herb botanical mixture developed for cancer chemoprevention. It contains extracts of *Dictamnus dasycarpus*, *Polygonum bistorta*, *Prunella vulgaris*, and *Sonchus brachyotus*. In mouse models of chemically induced lung cancer and oral squamous cell carcinoma, as well as syngeneic lung cancer and melanoma models, PV-1 reduced tumor development and remodeled the tumor immune microenvironment. Its observed activity included depletion of granulocytic myeloid-derived suppressor cells and increased intratumoral CD8-positive T-cell infiltration and cytotoxic effector production, including granzyme B, tumor necrosis factor alpha, and interferon gamma. PV-1 also enhanced the antitumor activity of anti-PD-1 treatment in mice. ([pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38077406/))
