Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pv-R-CYM 1 + Pv-R-CYM 2 refers to two sequential courses of a combination chemotherapy regimen used in pediatric lymphoma protocols. "Pv" likely denotes the patient group (pediatric), "R" stands for rituximab (a CD20-directed monoclonal antibody), and "CYM" is a chemotherapy backbone consisting of cytarabine and methotrexate. This regimen is typically administered as part of consolidation therapy following induction in pediatric B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma or similar high-grade lymphomas. The protocol involves rituximab combined with cytarabine and methotrexate, given in two separate cycles ("1" and "2"), often referred to as CYM1 and CYM2 or similar nomenclature[5][8]. Rituximab targets CD20 on B-cells, leading to their depletion via immune-mediated mechanisms; cytarabine is an antimetabolite that inhibits DNA synthesis; methotrexate inhibits dihydrofolate reductase, blocking DNA replication[5]. The regimen aims to eradicate residual malignant cells after initial tumor reduction.
