This regimen is typically administered as part of consolidation therapy following induction in pediatric B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma or similar high-grade lymphomas. The protocol involves rituximab combined with cytarabine and methotrexate, given in two separate cycles ("1" and "2"), often referred to as CYM1 and CYM2 or similar nomenclature[5][8]. Rituximab targets CD20 on B-cells, leading to their depletion via immune-mediated mechanisms; cytarabine is an antimetabolite that inhibits DNA synthesis; methotrexate inhibits dihydrofolate reductase, blocking DNA replication[5]. The regimen aims to eradicate residual malignant cells after initial tumor reduction.
