Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**PVP-TZ-POR 7b** is an investigational polyvinylpyrrolidone micellar formulation of the free-base beta-substituted triazole-porphyrin photosensitizer TZ-POR 7b. The active porphyrin carries an ortho-methoxyphenyl-substituted 1,2,3-triazole-vinyl group and is formulated in PVP micelles to improve aqueous stability and reduce porphyrin aggregation. Following visible-light irradiation, it generates singlet oxygen and other reactive oxygen species for photodynamic therapy. In vitro, it showed concentration- and time-dependent uptake in HT-1376 human bladder cancer cells, but had relatively low intracellular accumulation and lower phototoxicity than several related PVP-TZ-POR analogues.
