PvRexVac is a preclinical-stage exosome-based vaccine being developed by Innovex Therapeutics for the prevention of *Plasmodium vivax* malaria. The vaccine utilizes reticulocyte-derived exosomes (rex) harvested from *Plasmodium vivax* infections as its active platform. These extracellular vesicles serve as both an antigen discovery technology and a delivery platform, presenting parasite antigens to the immune system to induce protective humoral and cellular immunity. Specifically, the vaccine is designed to elicit specific IgG responses and long-lived non-exhausted effector memory T-cell responses. Proof-of-concept studies in rodent malaria models have demonstrated full protection against lethal challenge.
