Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PVT1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) PVT1 (plasmacytoma variant translocation 1). PVT1 is an oncogenic lncRNA frequently overexpressed in various cancers, including cervical, breast, and gastric carcinomas. By targeting PVT1 for degradation via the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, this siRNA inhibits cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion while promoting apoptosis and sensitizing cells to chemotherapeutic agents like cisplatin. Mechanistically, PVT1 has been shown to interact with proteins such as Nucleolin to stabilize mRNAs like GADD45A, contributing to tumor progression and chemoresistance.
