PVX-410 is an investigational multi-peptide therapeutic cancer vaccine designed to stimulate the immune system to induce a cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) response against multiple myeloma-specific antigens. The vaccine contains four synthetic peptides that target three highly over-expressed tumor-associated antigens in multiple myeloma cells: X-box binding protein 1 (XBP1), syndecan-1 (CD138), and cell surface glycoprotein SLAM family member 7 (SLAMF7, also known as CS1). By targeting several antigens simultaneously, PVX-410 aims to address tumor heterogeneity and reduce the likelihood of immune escape. It is being developed primarily for smoldering multiple myeloma and has also been studied in triple negative breast cancer. The vaccine is administered intramuscularly and can be used alone or in combination with other immunotherapies such as lenalidomide or checkpoint inhibitors like durvalumab. PVX-410 has received orphan drug designation from the FDA for multiple myeloma[2][4][5][6][7].
