Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**PVX7** is an investigational heterologous prime-boost therapeutic cancer-vaccine regimen for human papillomavirus-associated malignancies. It consists of two intramuscular administrations of the plasmid DNA vaccine pBI-11, which encodes HPV16 and HPV18 E6/E7 antigens fused with heat shock protein 70, followed by a boost with TA-HPV, a recombinant attenuated vaccinia-virus vaccine encoding HPV16 and HPV18 E6/E7 antigens. The regimen is intended to enhance HPV antigen-specific cytotoxic T-cell responses against tumor cells expressing the viral E6 and E7 oncoproteins. PVX7 is being developed by PapiVax Biotech for advanced cervical cancer and recurrent or metastatic HPV-positive oropharyngeal cancer, including studies in combination with pembrolizumab.
