Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PX0612 is a synbiotic combination product consisting of three probiotic bacterial strains—*Bacillus coagulans*, *Bacillus subtilis*, and *Enterococcus faecium*—and the prebiotic fiber fructo-oligosaccharide (FOS). Developed by PuraCap Pharmaceutical, it was investigated for the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea (IBS-D). The formulation utilizes spore-forming, lactic acid-producing bacteria to modulate the intestinal microbiome and regulate gut motility. By restoring healthy gut flora and providing a nutrient substrate (FOS) for bacterial colonization, PX0612 aims to alleviate common IBS symptoms such as bloating, gas, and irregular bowel movements.
