PX107 is a therapeutic vaccine developed by Pharmexa using its proprietary AutoVac technology to treat diseases characterized by excessive bone resorption. It is designed to induce a polyclonal antibody response against the Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor Kappa-B Ligand (RANKL), a key cytokine involved in osteoclast differentiation and activation. By neutralizing RANKL, PX107 aims to inhibit pathological bone destruction associated with conditions such as osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and bone metastasis. Preclinical data indicated that the vaccine could successfully break immune tolerance and generate high titers of anti-RANKL antibodies, effectively mimicking the action of monoclonal antibodies like denosumab but through active immunization.
