Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PYC-003 is a peptide-conjugated phosphorodiamidate morpholino oligomer (PMO) RNA therapeutic developed by PYC Therapeutics for the treatment of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). It is designed to address the underlying genetic cause of ADPKD by targeting and binding to PKD1 messenger RNA, thereby upregulating production of the PC1 protein. This mechanism aims to prevent or slow cyst formation in the kidneys, potentially arresting disease progression and enabling restoration of kidney function. The drug leverages a cell-penetrating peptide delivery platform for enhanced renal uptake and efficacy. PYC-003 is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials, with initial studies showing good tolerability in healthy volunteers[1][2][3][4][5][6][7].
