Overview

Pylosan is a dietary supplement, specifically categorized as a food for special medical purposes (FSMP), developed by Laves-Arzneimittel for the dietary management of *Helicobacter pylori*-associated gastritis and the support of intestinal and immune health. The product contains a combination of inactivated *Lactobacillus reuteri* DSM 17648 (commercially known as Pylopass), zinc, and vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin). Its primary mechanism of action involves the specific physical binding of the inactivated *L. reuteri* cells to *H. pylori* bacteria in the stomach. This interaction forms co-aggregates that are naturally eliminated through the digestive tract, thereby reducing the gastric bacterial load without disrupting the normal gut microbiota. The inclusion of zinc and vitamin B12 is intended to support the regeneration of the gastric mucosa and bolster the immune system's response to infection.
