Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pylospey is an oral gastroprotective combination product developed by SPEY, formulated as capsules containing zinc L-carnosine (polaprezinc) and inactivated cells of a patented strain of Lactobacillus reuteri (DSM 17648). It is indicated for gastrological use, specifically to reduce Helicobacter pylori levels in the gastrointestinal tract and promote the healing of the gastric mucosa. Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17648 physically binds and co-aggregates with H. pylori, facilitating its excretion from the stomach. Polaprezinc, a chelate of zinc and L-carnosine, acts as a mucosal protective agent by stimulating the expression of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70), scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS), and inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines, thereby accelerating tissue repair and protecting the gastric lining.
