Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pyridorin is an investigational small molecule drug developed for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy. It acts as a scavenger of pathogenic oxidative chemistries, targeting and neutralizing reactive oxygen species and other oxidative intermediates that contribute to the progression of kidney damage in diabetes. Pyridorin is designed to slow the progression of diabetic kidney disease by inhibiting these pathological oxidative processes. The drug has been evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials for its efficacy in reducing renal disease progression in patients with type 2 diabetes and nephropathy[7][10]. Pyridorin is considered a first-in-class compound for this indication.
