Overview

Qβ-Aβ1-9 is an experimental active **amyloid-beta immunotherapy vaccine** for Alzheimer's disease. It consists of the N-terminal amyloid-beta 1-9 peptide displayed in a dense repetitive array on a bacteriophage Qβ virus-like particle carrier. In APP transgenic mice, vaccination induced anti-amyloid-beta antibodies without an added adjuvant, generated weak or negligible amyloid-beta-specific T-cell responses, and reduced amyloid deposition. The published evidence is preclinical and no INN, marketed brand, or clinical development program for this exact construct was identified.
