Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Q-Gel is a peptide-modified collagen-chitosan hydrogel developed by Quthero for wound healing, tissue regeneration, and post-aesthetic procedure recovery. The hydrogel is conjugated with QHREDGS (glutamine-histidine-arginine-glutamic acid-aspartic acid-glycine-serine), a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the fibrinogen-like domain of angiopoietin-1. Q-Gel promotes cell survival, reduces inflammation, and enhances tissue regeneration by interacting with integrins (primarily beta-1 integrins, such as alpha-v beta-3 and alpha-5 beta-1) on the surface of keratinocytes, fibroblasts, macrophages, and endothelial cells. This interaction stimulates re-epithelialization, modulates macrophage polarization toward a pro-healing phenotype, and supports neovascularization. Q-Gel is being developed for diabetic wounds, skin wounds, acute donor-site wound healing, and post-aesthetic procedure recovery.
