Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Q-Pan H5N8 is an adjuvanted monovalent influenza vaccine candidate developed by GSK for pandemic preparedness against the H5N8 subtype of Influenza A virus. The vaccine is based on the A/Astrakhan/3212/2020-like strain and incorporates GSK's proprietary AS03 adjuvant system, an oil-in-water emulsion containing alpha-tocopherol and squalene. AS03 is designed to enhance the magnitude and breadth of the immune response, potentially allowing for dose-sparing and improved protection against drifted strains. The vaccine is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials to assess its safety and immunogenicity in adults aged 18 and older, including the elderly population.
