Q-VaxCelerate is an investigational T cell epitope-based DNA vaccine designed for the prevention of Q fever, a zoonotic disease caused by the intracellular bacterium *Coxiella burnetii*. Developed by the Vaccine and Immunotherapy Center (VIC) at Massachusetts General Hospital in collaboration with EpiVax, the vaccine utilizes the iVAX computational toolkit to identify highly conserved T cell epitopes across various strains of the pathogen. Unlike the existing whole-cell inactivated vaccine (Q-Vax), which can trigger severe hypersensitivity reactions in individuals with prior exposure to *C. burnetii*, Q-VaxCelerate is engineered to induce robust cellular immunity without the risk of adverse inflammatory responses associated with whole-cell components. The vaccine is currently being evaluated in early-stage clinical trials to assess its safety and immunogenicity in humans.
