Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Q301 is a topical formulation of zileuton, a 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO) inhibitor, being developed for the treatment of atopic dermatitis. It is the first topical leukotriene inhibitor for atopic dermatitis, designed to target inflammatory processes by inhibiting the production of leukotrienes, particularly leukotriene B4 (LTB4), which plays a significant role in atopic dermatitis progression by recruiting inflammatory cells to the lesion. The topical formulation aims to maximize pharmaceutical effects while minimizing systemic absorption and potential toxicity.
