Overview
QBECO SSI is a site specific immunomodulator derived from inactivated Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacterial components. It is designed to restore innate immune function in the gastrointestinal tract and related organs by stimulating the recruitment and activation of M1 macrophages, thereby enhancing the body's ability to clear infection, inflammation, and fibrosis. Unlike conventional therapies that suppress immune responses, QBECO SSI aims to correct dysfunctional immunity underlying diseases such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, colorectal cancer, fatty liver disease (MAFLD/MASH), and potentially other chronic inflammatory or metabolic conditions. The drug is being developed by Qu Biologics and has been evaluated in multiple clinical trials for inflammatory bowel diseases and various cancers[1][2][3][4][5][6][7].
