QBI-139

QBI-139 is an investigational anticancer biologic developed by Quintessence Biosciences, Inc. It is a recombinant variant of human pancreatic ribonuclease 1 (RNase 1) engineered using the proprietary EVade™ Ribonuclease technology. This modification allows the protein to evade the cytosolic ribonuclease inhibitor (RI), which normally inactivates RNases within the cell. Once inside cancer cells, QBI-139 remains active and degrades cellular RNA, leading to the induction of apoptosis. The drug was primarily evaluated in Phase I clinical trials for the treatment of advanced refractory solid tumors, including pancreatic, non-small cell lung, prostate, ovarian, and colorectal cancers.
