Overview

QBSAU is an investigative Site Specific Immunomodulator (SSI) being developed by Qu Biologics for the treatment of melanoma and breast cancer. Derived from inactivated *Staphylococcus aureus*, QBSAU is part of a novel class of immunotherapies designed to restore and 'train' innate immune function in targeted organs. The SSI platform operates on the principle that specific bacterial species can stimulate an immune response in the organs they typically infect; as *S. aureus* is commonly associated with skin and bone, QBSAU is designed to modulate the immune environment in these tissues. The drug is administered subcutaneously and aims to reverse the immune dysregulation that allows cancer cells to evade detection, potentially improving outcomes in patients with solid tumors.
