QD-Mic refers to quantum dot-loaded immunomicelles designed for targeted tumor imaging. These nanoparticles are composed of near-infrared quantum dots encapsulated within polymeric micelles prepared from a polyethylene glycol-phosphatidylethanolamine (PEG-PE) conjugate. The surface of the micelle is functionalized with the cancer-specific monoclonal anti-nucleosome antibody 2C5 (mAb 2C5), which recognizes tumor-surface-bound nucleosomes. This targeted delivery system enhances the accumulation of the imaging agent in tumor tissues, providing significantly higher fluorescence intensity compared to non-targeted formulations, thereby improving the sensitivity and specificity of optical tumor detection in preclinical models.
