Overview

**QED-203** is a first-in-class small molecule drug in preclinical development for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), particularly cases resistant to standard therapies. It features a unique dual mechanism targeting **TRPV6** (transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 6), a calcium channel overexpressed in advanced prostate cancer, and the **androgen receptor (AR)** to address resistance mechanisms. Originating from 15 years of research by Professor Greg Monteith at The University of Queensland on calcium signaling in cancer progression, it is being advanced by the Queensland Emory Drug Discovery Initiative (QEDDI), with recent $1.25 million AUD funding from Critical Path Institute's Translational Therapeutics Accelerator to support IND-enabling studies including preclinical efficacy, manufacturing, and safety evaluations.[1][3][5][6]
