Drug intelligence / Profile preview
QEL-004 is a Pan-Liver CAR-Treg cell therapy under discovery by Quell Therapeutics for the treatment of liver autoimmune diseases. This investigational therapy is part of a pipeline of engineered T-regulatory (Treg) cell therapies designed to leverage and optimize the immune suppressive properties of Tregs to address immune system-driven medical conditions. Tregs function by suppressing pathogenic cell types and promoting the conversion of conventional and pathogenic T cells into induced Tregs, thereby creating a localized tolerogenic environment that amplifies immune suppression and prevents chronic inflammation. The therapy aims to provide long-lasting disease control by targeting specific overactive immune responses without broadly suppressing the entire immune system.
