Overview

QG0301 is a PEGylated thrombopoietin (TPO) mimetic peptide developed by Shandong Quangang Pharmaceutical for the treatment of primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). It acts as a TPO receptor agonist (TPO-RA), mimicking the biological activity of endogenous thrombopoietin by binding to and activating the TPO receptor (MPL) on the surface of megakaryocytes and their precursor cells. This activation triggers intracellular signaling pathways that promote megakaryocyte proliferation, maturation, and subsequent platelet production. The addition of a polyethylene glycol (PEG) moiety enhances the molecule's stability and extends its circulating half-life, potentially allowing for a more convenient dosing schedule compared to non-modified peptides. QG0301 is currently being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials in China for patients with chronic ITP.
