Overview

QH103E is an allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy utilizing γδ T cells, specifically engineered to target the CD19 antigen. Developed by the Chinese PLA General Hospital, this therapy involves gene editing to enhance the cells' resistance to alloreactive T-cell killing and to improve memory efficacy. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Unlike traditional αβ T-cell CAR therapies, γδ T cells possess innate-like properties and do not require HLA matching, making them suitable for "off-the-shelf" allogeneic applications. The product is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development, where it is being evaluated for safety and efficacy in patients who have failed prior lines of therapy.
