Overview

QHRD114 is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinases 4 and 6 (CDK4/6), developed by Jiangsu Zhonghong Bioengineering Pharmaceutical Research Institute, a subsidiary of Changzhou Qianhong Biopharma. CDK4 and CDK6 are critical regulators of the cell cycle, specifically governing the transition from the G1 to the S phase. By selectively inhibiting these kinases, QHRD114 prevents the phosphorylation of the retinoblastoma (Rb) protein, which leads to cell cycle arrest in the G1 phase and subsequently suppresses the proliferation of tumor cells. The drug is primarily being investigated for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development (e.g., NCT04461548) to evaluate its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile in patients with refractory malignancies.
