Qi Bao Mei Ran (also known as Qi Bao Mei Ran Dan) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula traditionally used to tonify the liver and kidney, nourish blood, and strengthen essence. It is composed of seven primary herbal ingredients: *Polygonum multiflorum*, *Angelica sinensis*, *Lycium barbarum*, *Achyranthes bidentata*, *Poria cocos*, *Cuscuta chinensis*, and *Psoralea corylifolia*. In modern clinical research, particularly in studies led by Beijing Normal University, the formula is being evaluated as an oral liquid for its potential to treat mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The research focuses on its ability to modulate brain functional connectivity and improve cognitive performance, utilizing functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to observe changes in neural activity and connectivity in the brain.
