Qi-Deng Ming-Mu capsule (also known as Qideng Mingmu capsule) is an oral traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) capsule formulation developed jointly by Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taiji Group. It is composed of extracts from *Erigeron breviscapus*, *Astragalus membranaceus*, and *Pueraria montana*. The capsule is primarily developed for the treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME) and diabetic retinopathy. It is designed to improve microcirculation, reduce retinal neovascularization, and stabilize retinal vessels. Mechanistically, its active constituents, such as scutellarin, have been shown to modulate the VEGF/Angiopoietin (Ang)/Tie2 signaling pathway, downregulating pro-angiogenic factors (like VEGF-A, Ang2, and HIF-1α) and upregulating vascular stability-related proteins (like Ang1 and Tie2).
