Overview

Qi Zhi Wei Tong granules (also known as Qi-Zhi-Wei-Tong Keli) is a traditional Chinese patent medicine approved by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China for the treatment of functional dyspepsia and gastrointestinal motility and sensory disorders. It is a multi-herb formulation composed of six traditional Chinese medicinal herbs: Radix Bupleuri (Chaihu), Rhizoma Corydalis (Yanhusuo), Fructus Aurantii (Zhike), Rhizoma Cyperi (Xiangfu), Radix Paeoniae Alba (Baishao), and Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gancao). Qi Zhi Wei Tong granules work by soothing the liver, regulating Qi, and relieving stomach pain. Preclinical and clinical studies suggest that the formulation alleviates visceral hypersensitivity, improves gastric motility, reduces low-grade duodenal inflammation, and strengthens the mucosal barrier, potentially by modulating gut microbiota and bile acid metabolism.
