Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qiangzhi Granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Shijiazhuang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine specifically for the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis (AS). The formulation is based on TCM principles aimed at tonifying the kidney, strengthening the spine, and dispelling wind and dampness, which are thought to address the underlying 'kidney deficiency and cold-dampness' syndrome associated with AS. Pharmacological research indicates that Qiangzhi Granule exerts anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects by downregulating pro-inflammatory cytokines such as Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-α), Interleukin-1 (IL-1), and Interleukin-6 (IL-6). Clinical use of the granule has been shown to alleviate symptoms such as back pain and morning stiffness while improving spinal mobility and physical function in patients with AS.
