Qianlietong (前列通片) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) oral tablet formulation used primarily for the management of lower urinary tract symptoms associated with chronic prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia (prostatomegaly). The formula is designed to clear heat and dampness, resolve blood stasis, and promote urination. It is indicated for symptoms such as difficult urination due to heat binding in the lower abdomen, frequent or painful urination, thin urine stream, urgency or pain on urination, and lower back pain. The main herbal ingredients include Caulis et Folium Fici Pumilae (Vaccaria Seed), Radix Astragali (Astragalus Root), Semen Plantaginis (Plantago Seed), Cortex Phellodendri Amurensis/Chinensis (Phellodendron Bark), Rhizoma Anemones Raddeanae (Anemone Rhizome), Herba Taraxaci (Dandelion Herb), Herba Lycopi (Lycopus Herb), Succinum (Amber Resin), Oleum Anisi Stellati (Star Anise Oil) and Oleum Cinnamomi (Cinnamon Oil)[2][3]. Its mechanism of action is based on TCM principles rather than specific molecular targets; it acts by clearing damp-heat from the lower energizer and promoting smooth flow of urine.
