Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qibang Tangshen Formula (QBTF) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal compound developed by the Longhua Hospital affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is specifically formulated for the treatment of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The formula typically consists of several botanical ingredients, including *Astragalus membranaceus* and *Rehmannia glutinosa*, which are selected to address the TCM patterns of Qi-Yin deficiency and blood stasis. QBTF exerts its therapeutic effects by reducing proteinuria, improving glomerular filtration rates, and protecting podocytes from injury. Its molecular mechanism involves the inhibition of renal fibrosis and inflammation, primarily through the downregulation of the TGF-β1/Smad signaling pathway and the suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines like NF-κB.
