Overview
Qifangfeixian granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation being investigated for the treatment of connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD). Developed by Huilan Zhang and researchers at Tongji Hospital, the granules are derived from the classical "Fangji Huangqi Decoction" found in the *Summary of Golden Chamber*. The formulation consists of several herbal components, including Astragalus (*Huangqi*), *Stephania tetrandra* (*Fangji*), *Cornus officinalis* (dogwood), *Cuscuta* (dodder), *Ginkgo biloba*, *Salvia miltiorrhiza*, and *Prunus persica* (*Taoren*). It is designed to regulate immune function, provide anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects, and reduce the clinical symptoms of ILD while potentially decreasing the reliance on high-dose corticosteroids and immunosuppressants.
