Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qigu Capsules (芪骨胶囊) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) compound preparation developed and manufactured by Xiamen Traditional Chinese Medicine Co., Ltd. (under the brand name Dinglu). It is officially approved in China for the treatment of osteoporosis, particularly targeting postmenopausal and senile osteoporosis associated with kidney deficiency and blood stasis patterns. The formulation is composed of several herbal ingredients, including *Astragalus membranaceus*, *Epimedium brevicornu*, *Drynaria fortunei*, *Rehmannia glutinosa*, and *Salvia miltiorrhiza*. Pharmacological studies indicate that Qigu Capsules improves bone mineral density and bone microarchitecture by promoting osteoblast-mediated bone formation and inhibiting osteoclast-mediated bone resorption. This therapeutic effect is largely attributed to the modulation of the OPG/RANKL signaling pathway and the phytoestrogenic activity of its constituents.
