Overview

Qiguiyin (also known as Qiguiyin Recipe or 芪归银) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal decoction developed by researchers at Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. It is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of pulmonary infections caused by multidrug-resistant (MDR) microorganisms, such as *Acinetobacter baumannii* or *Klebsiella pneumoniae*, particularly in patients diagnosed with 'Qi deficiency' syndrome. The formula typically comprises three core botanical ingredients: *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi), *Angelica sinensis* (Danggui), and *Lonicera japonica* (Jinyinhua). Its therapeutic mechanism is based on the TCM principle of tonifying Qi and blood to enhance the host's immune response while utilizing the anti-inflammatory and potential antimicrobial properties of its constituents to combat resistant pathogens and reduce systemic inflammation.
