Drug intelligence / Profile preview
QiGuiYiShen Decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound herbal preparation primarily used to delay or prevent renal fibrosis, particularly in the context of chronic kidney disease (CKD). The formula is composed mainly of Angelica sinensis and Astragalus membranaceus, among other herbs. Its mechanism involves multiple components acting on multiple targets and pathways associated with renal fibrosis. Specifically, it regulates the expression of thrombomodulin (TM), plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-β1), and collagen type I (Col I). By increasing TM expression and reducing PAI-1 levels in kidney tissues, it helps mitigate inflammation and fibrotic processes that contribute to CKD progression[1]. The decoction exemplifies the TCM approach of multi-targeted intervention for complex diseases.
