Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qihong capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF). It is specifically indicated for patients presenting with the TCM syndrome of Qi deficiency and blood stasis. The capsule typically contains extracts from *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi) and *Rhodiola rosea* (Hongjingtian), which are intended to tonify Qi, activate blood circulation, and resolve stasis. In clinical studies, it is evaluated as an adjunct to standard Western medical therapy to improve cardiac function, exercise tolerance, and quality of life. The drug is currently being investigated in Phase 2 clinical trials to preliminarily evaluate its safety and effectiveness in this patient population.
