Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qihuang Mingmu recipe is a traditional Chinese medicine formulation, also referred to as Qihuang Mingmu capsule (QHMM), currently under investigation for its therapeutic potential in Non-Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy (NPDR). It is developed by institutions affiliated with Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The drug is believed to exert its effects by modulating the TGF-β1/α-SMA signaling pathway and by inhibiting the expression of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), Fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 (Flt-1), and Fetal liver kinase 1 (Flk-1, also known as VEGFR2), thereby intervening in the VEGF-VEGFR signal transduction pathway.
