Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qihuang Yishen Granule (also known as TCM2501) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed as a hospital preparation by Wangjing Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and licensed to Tasly for further clinical development. It is formulated from five traditional herbs: Huangqi (*Astragalus membranaceus*), Dihuang (*Rehmannia glutinosa*), Shanzhuyu (*Cornus officinalis*), Danshen (*Salvia miltiorrhiza*), and Danggui (*Angelica sinensis*). Qihuang Yishen Granule is primarily developed for the treatment of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) and diabetic nephropathy, where it aims to reduce proteinuria and alleviate renal fibrosis. Mechanistically, the formula has been shown to attenuate renal tubular injury and podocyte epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) by downregulating the expression of lncRNA MALAT1, inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, and modulating inflammation via the cGAS/STING pathway.
