Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qijiao Shengbai Jiaonang (also known as Qijiao Shengbai Capsule) is a traditional Chinese medicine formulation derived from Miao nationality medicine, clinically utilized for the treatment and prophylaxis of leukopenia, particularly chemotherapy-induced or radiotherapy-induced leukopenia and bone marrow suppression. The formulation is a complex herbal mixture composed of seven active ingredients: *Indigofera stachyoides* Lindl. (Xue Renshen), *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huang Qi), *Equus asinus* L. (E'jiao/donkey-hide gelatin), *Angelica sinensis* (Dang Gui), *Ziziphus jujuba* Mill. (Da Zao), *Sophora flavescens* Ait. (Ku Shen), and *Epimedium brevicornu* Maxim. (Yin Yanghuo). It functions to nourish Qi and blood while enhancing immune function. Key bioactive components include genistein, quercetin, caffeic acid, and ferulic acid. Mechanistically, Qijiao Shengbai Jiaonang acts via multiple pathways, including the PI3K-Akt-mTOR/FoxO3a signaling axis, the leukotriene pathway (targeting ALOX5), and the Bcl2/Bax/CASPASE3 apoptotic pathway, to stimulate white blood cell production and protect bone marrow function.
