Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qilian Xiaopi Formula (also known as Qilianxiaopi Decoction or WW-1) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed for the treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) and gastric precancerous lesions (GPL). It exerts its therapeutic effects by targeting ADAM17 (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase 17) to inhibit enzymatic activity and reduce pro-inflammatory TNF-α secretion, as well as by modulating the gastric immune microenvironment. Specifically, it rebalances M2/M1 macrophage polarization by downregulating M2-associated markers (such as CD163) and upregulating M1 markers (such as CD80), a process mediated by key targets including PTGS2 (prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 2). Active constituents of the formula, such as Alangiside, Naringin, Baicalin, and Narirutin, have been identified as key binding components to these targets.
