Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qilong Tongshen Granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) developed by Shijiazhuang Yiling Pharmaceutical for the treatment of diabetic kidney disease (DKD). Formulated based on the "collateral disease" (Luo Bing) theory, the preparation contains a combination of herbal ingredients, including Astragalus (Huangqi) and Earthworm (Dilong), designed to tonify Qi, activate blood circulation, and dredge renal collaterals. The drug aims to address the underlying pathology of "Qi deficiency and blood stasis" in diabetic patients. Clinical trials have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing urinary albumin excretion rates and improving renal function in patients with early-to-mid stage diabetic nephropathy. It received marketing approval from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in January 2024.
