Overview

Qinbaiqingfei Nongsuowan is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) developed by the Heilongjiang Provincial Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of pneumonia caused by *Mycoplasma pneumoniae*. It was the first TCM specifically approved in China for this indication, receiving NMPA approval in 2004. The formulation is a concentrated pill (Nongsuowan) composed of several herbal ingredients, including *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Huangqin), *Stemona sessilifolia* (Baibu), *Platycodon grandiflorus* (Jiegeng), and *Glycyrrhiza uralensis* (Gancao). Its mechanism of action involves a multi-targeted approach, providing anti-mycoplasmal activity, anti-inflammatory effects, and antitussive properties. It is primarily used in pediatric and adult populations to clear lung heat, resolve phlegm, and alleviate cough associated with respiratory infections.
