Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qinbei Zhike Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Anhui Institute of Pharmaceutical Research for the treatment of acute tracheobronchitis. It is specifically indicated for patients diagnosed with the TCM syndrome of "phlegm-heat obstructing the lungs," which typically presents with symptoms such as cough, profuse yellow phlegm, and chest congestion. The formulation is a combination of several herbal extracts, most notably *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Huangqin) and *Fritillaria cirrhosa* (Chuanbeimu), which provide anti-inflammatory, antitussive, and expectorant properties. It was approved as a Class 6.1 new Chinese medicine by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China in 2005.
