Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Qing Gan An Shen (QGAS) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed as a granule for the treatment of chronic insomnia. It is primarily developed by the Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine and the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The formulation is designed based on TCM principles to clear liver fire and calm the spirit (An Shen), addressing insomnia symptoms often associated with liver-yang hyperactivity or emotional distress. Clinical evaluation is focused on its efficacy and safety in improving sleep quality and duration in patients with chronic insomnia, typically through randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials.
